Beryl Showers Holland was the daughter of Charles Hull Showers, one of the founders of the Showers Brothers Furniture Factory, and his wife Maud. She was the founder of the Tri Kappa philanthropic sorority and a member of many civic groups. She was a member of the State Board of Education, and the first National Committeewoman from Indiana for the Republican Party.
