Nicole Browne

First County Clerk The democratic caucus voted Nicole Browne Monroe County Clerk in March of 2016. Browne’s journey to county clerk’s office started as Chief Deputy Clerk. On March 4th, 2016 County Clerk Linda Robbins resigned due to health reasons, with Browne being named interim director until the democratic caucus could vote. After earning 36 of the 69 votes, Browne was sworn in by Nicole Bolden, the first African American City Clerk. In November 2018 Browne ran for re-election and won her race.
