Fred Huff, Jr.

Fred Huff Jr. taught for 41 years at Bloomington High School and Bloomington South. He was head football coach at Bloomington High School from 1947 through 1969, building one of the strongest football programs in the state. After retiring from teaching, he was elected to the Monroe County Community School Corp. board in 1988. As a football coach, he was South Central Conference Coach of the Year in 1966 and 1968 and Indiana Coach of the Year in 1968. He was elected to the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 1975. Until his death, he reviewed college football officiating for the Big Ten athletic conference. He represented the MCCSC school board on the Partners in Education committee, the MCCSC strategic planning group, the MCCSC Foundation board, the school technology committee and the building committees for the Bloomington North gym and Templeton Elementary School.
